چکیده
A variational model for reconstruction of damaged color images is studied, in particular in the case where only finitely many colors are admissible for the reconstructed image. An existence result and regularity properties of minimizers are presented.

Exact Reconstruction of Damaged Color Images Using a Total Variation Model
In this paper the reconstruction of damaged piecewice constant color images is studied using a RGB total variation based model for colorization/inpainting. In particular, it is shown that when color is known in a uniformly distributed region, then reconstruction is possible with maximal fidelity.
متن کاملPlanelet Transform: A New Geometrical Wavelet for Compression of Kinect-like Depth Images
With the advent of cheap indoor RGB-D sensors, proper representation of piecewise planar depth images is crucial toward an effective compression method. Although there exist geometrical wavelets for optimal representation of piecewise constant and piecewise linear images (i.e. wedgelets and platelets), an adaptation to piecewise linear fractional functions which correspond to depth variation ov...
متن کاملFast Partitioning of Vector-Valued Images
We propose a fast splitting approach to the classical variational formulation of the image partitioning problem, which is frequently referred to as the Potts or piecewise constant Mumford–Shah model. For vector-valued images, our approach is significantly faster than the methods based on graph cuts and convex relaxations of the Potts model which are presently the state-of-the-art. The computati...
متن کاملData-Driven Tight Frame for Multi-Channel Images and Its Application to Joint Color-Depth Image Reconstruction
In image restoration, we usually assume that the underlying image has a good sparse approximation under a certain system. Wavelet tight frame system has been proven to be such an efficient system to sparsely approximate piecewise smooth images. Thus it has been widely used in many practical image restoration problems. However, images from different scenarios are so diverse that no static wavele...
متن کاملData reordering for improved constrained reconstruction from undersampled k-space data
Introduction: There has always been interest in speeding the acquisition of MRI data by acquiring fewer data in k-space. Recently there has been a significant interest in applying inverse problem techniques to reconstructing images from undersampled k-space MRI data [1-6]. One class of methods, from the nascent field of compressed sensing, is based on the sparse representation of images. As an ...
